Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on problems relating to Le Chatelier's Principle and dissociation in preparation for her upcoming quiz."
"Reviewed for the student's quiz on reaction kinetics (activation energy, potential energies of reactants/products, activated complex, enthalpy, entropy, forward/reverse reactions, catalysts)."
"Today the student and I covered: polyatomic ions and corresponding compounds, acids and bases concepts, ion product of water, pH value, and reactions of acids and bases."
"Today, I met with the student at the library to help her review the material in Chapters 16 and 20 in her Biology textbook. The material primarily consisted of DNA, histones, chromatids/chromatins, and the processes behind replication. Chapter 20 dealt with genetic sequences, recombination, and genetic engineering as well as the lab techniques used (which she will probably have a chance to experience in her Bio lab course). Lastly, we planned out a study routine for her to follow with her homework and last chapter (chapter 6) before her first exam."
"Tonight, we covered intro to bio homework #5, and then we reviewed step 3 of the scientific process of experimentation, adding additional terminology to what we learned last session. We then moved into new material: chapter 2 chemistry of life. We began learning about the basics of chemistry, including what it means, atoms/elements/compounds, and types of bonds and chemical reactions. As always, the student did an excellent job with both homework and during our sessions."
"We covered cellular respiration and walked through substrate level and oxidative phosphorylation. The topics included glycolysis, pyruvate dehydrogenase, fermentation, the Krebs cycle, and the electron transport chain."
