Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over his new notes on capacitance and magnetism. We spent most of the session with examples of using the 'right hand rule' to determine the magnetic force on a charge and on a wire, and also to determine the magnetic field around a wire. We mostly talked qualitatively, but did a few examples with numbers at the end. It seemed to make a lot more sense by the end of the session."
"We had a good lesson today. We covered charge and electric forces, potential energy, and potential. The student told me that she actually understands this content pretty well. I went over two problems she did not understand on the test, making sure to explain the concepts thoroughly."
"The student and I met to cover material for a test this week over electromagnetic waves and optics. We went over conceptual topics describing electromagnetic waves and what differentiates them from mechanical waves. We then went over different scenarios involving images formed using convex and concave mirrors and lenses, and what causes images to be real/virtual. I covered ray-tracing procedures that can be used to graphically determine how the images are formed. The student expressed that the material was much more clear after our session."
