"Today the student and I went over her entire practice test and reviewed what she got wrong. She had improved since her first diagnostic test. We then finished most of the math section. Tomorrow I will focus on the rest of the math section and her writing passage."
"The other day the student contacted me and requested that we could go over an entire math section. So, today, we went over some of the questions she had from homework. Then, we went through an entire college entrance exam math section. Afterwards, we went over word problems. In the end, I assigned additional homework from the book and I bumped up her vocab to 25 words a day."
"The student is doing a great job using mnemonics to help memorize her study cards. She is using text to self connections and breaking down vocabulary words to help remember the meaning. She is making strong connections between the words and prefixes/roots in the verbal section to the knowledge that she has obtained in her Latin classes. These are connections and strategies that she did not implement her first time taking the college entrance exam. We also completed two reading drills and devised a reading plan to help boost her reading score. She has been taught to skim the questions prior to reading the passage, read the passage, underline key words and important information, and jot down the main idea of each paragraph on the side of the passage. She is learning to look back in the passage for evidence to prove her answers. She is learning how to use the test to take the test, and she is doing a great job when applying her learned strategies."
