"Student 1 had a few assignments today but we were only able to get through two of them. She completed her vocabulary skills practice sheet that she had already started. We moved on to math and that took some time to go through the visualization of fractions multiplied by whole numbers. I helped her divide a sheet of paper up into sections and then count out objects in each section to represent the fraction. She quickly caught on to this procedure as was able to complete problems on her own with this visualization.
Student 2 had math, spelling, and vocabulary homework. She completed all the assignments. Her math homework was on math riddles with clues about the range and digits. She practiced her spelling words and completed a vocabulary exercise in her skills practice book. The next session is on Thursday at 5:30pm."

"We warmed up with a "five minute" write using magazine pictures. We then talked about organizing the student's prewriting. We did a very basic outline, divided into beginning, middle and end. The student brainstormed ideas and then wrote four pages of a new imaginative narrative."
"Reviewed and completed weekend's homework. Created study material (flashcards) for the student's test on Wednesday and reviewed what he was likely to have to do on Tuesday for his lab report. Outlined some things he could do to help understand and check himself on problems and went over unit conversions. Understands most terms and I included the more difficult ones in the study materials for his upcoming test."
"We reviewed homework for the last time, which included adding, subtracting, and simplifying fractions. We then briefly reviewed the number line and integers, and then worked on comparing fractions and multiplying and dividing fractions. We concluded with work on some word problems and a 'mad minute' of multiplication facts."
"During this lesson the student and I started with a few questions from the SAT math portion followed by a broad overview of all the topics that are covered on the Math section. Afterwards, we discussed the SAT writing portion in detail and the student made notes about what would be expected from his essay. Additionally, towards the end of the session I gave the student a short vocabulary quiz and afterwards we went over the definition of each word in detail."
"We went over his old tests on Thermodynamics. I explained which equations were needed and why they were needed to solve each question. Our main goal is to understand the general concepts and how to use those to solve problems. I explained a bit of differentiation and integration."
"Student 1: Reviewed functions, simplifying polynomials, rational expressions, and old exams for the unit test tomorrow
Student 2: Went through homework problems on triangle proofs and congruent parts of triangles."
Student 2: Went through homework problems on triangle proofs and congruent parts of triangles."
"We finished the triangle sections today. Topics that we still need to cover include circles, probability, statistics, permutations, combinations, ratios, and more, so that's where we'll start next week."
"Today's session was split between reviewing biology and finishing the student's essay. With regards to biology, we began by looking at the student's performance on a practice test I had sent him. The student did quite well on this test, although it was a fairly easy one. Out of a desire to ensure the student is completely prepared for his test, we next went over much more difficult problems out of an AP book. For the remainder of the session, I worked with the student on his English essay. I decided the most efficient way to do this would be to guide him through writing a first paragraph, and then to review his work once he produced a rough draft. We did this, with good results."
"This is the student's first session since break. I am going to give her an evaluation and see if the exercises and practices I gave her over the two week break helped to improve those areas that they needed to."
"We finished our work finding the solution of multiple linear equations. We worked in some inequalities and also graphed everything that we solved. We finished up our discussion of the sets of numbers, and also did some additional work with domain and range.
He reported that his school work is going very well, and said he needed no homework help. I did not assign any practice problems."
"Today we went over a worksheet that covered conversion between degrees and radians, the basic inputs and outputs of the sine and cosine functions, inverse functions and a couple logic problems involving the definition of an inverse function."
