Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Reviewed syllabus. Reviewed previous week's homework. Concepts: Supply & Demand curves. Equilibrium. "Bottom line." Unintended consequences. Ceteris Paribus. Student wishes to maintain high GPA. Has never studied Econ, so all concepts are foreign. Attitude: positive. Skills: suggested reading questions first, then assigned reading. Suggested having reading done prior to tutoring sessions. Extra practice: none left but will send some links to helpful videos as follow up."
"Today the student and I got to know each other, and went over a practice exam in detail to prepare for his upcoming test this week. We spent a good amount of time on monopolistic competition, specifically solving certain equations. We plan to review this area in depth during our next session, although I must say that he is very intelligent and seems to be in good shape. I think our main goal will be to make sure he has everything memorized for the test, as when he has his notes with him he grasps the concepts very well. We also discussed his current grade and our goal to bring it up by at least one letter."
"We covered material for the student's final. Specifically, we covered supply and demand curves, the differences between Hayekian economics versus Keynesian economics, Communism vs Socialism vs Capitalism, consumer sovereignty, tax rates, interest rates, and expansionary versus contractionary policies."
