"We introduced homework 2 and outlined how to approach the problem. We are going over mapping and copy constructors next Tuesday."
"Today, I started teaching the first student binary. He understands the concepts, but I had to ease him into it by making it easy to convert from decimal to binary. After a while, he was able to convert 3 digit decimal values to binary and had no trouble going from binary to decimal. With larger decimal numbers I gave him hints to figure out the binary conversion. He's doing really well, and I'm impressed. I gave the other two students a warm up for number base conversions and addition in order of number bases. After having them compare answers, I gave the second student the number systems quiz I gave the third student last week. The third student took a quiz derived from sample Short Problems from the American Computer Science League competitions. At the end, the third student spent the rest of the session familiarizing herself with the MIT AppInventor coding environment."
"We went over variables, input, output, message boxes, properties, events, controls, and basic PEMDAS math. The student needed help with the basics of coding. What variables am I trying to change? When and in which events do I want to change these variables? She learned very quickly, and although she had trouble in the beginning, her memory allowed her to quickly figure the process of coding out. One of the study skills we went over is redoing old problems."
