Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over a handout that the student's teacher gave her that seemed to be easing its way into trigonometric identities and proofs."
"The student and I reviewed the six trigonometric functions. Additionally, the student just began the subject of radians. We went through her textbook and used the examples given in order to make sense of the concept. By the end of the session, she was able to explain the difference between radians and degrees, why there is a difference, and how to convert between the two."
"We went over how to graph inverse trigonometric functions. We reviewed some concepts from last week and put all they learned together for their exam."
"We reviewed graphing sinusoidal functions. The student has a strong grasp on the subject, and I expect him to do well on future testing. His only problem is concluding an answer too early. I explained methods of self-checking, that if he takes the time to do, will ensure correct answers."
"We went over the questions she got wrong on her previous test, in particular regarding shifts of sin/cos functions and using arc functions."
"The student and I reviewed assignment 5.4 and most of 5.5. The material was better prepared for and less complex than our last lesson and the student was able to complete the work with little difficulty. We did get hung up a little bit on some of the word problems from section 5.5, but we will address those in our next session. The sections covered vectors and the dot product."
