"We went over the trapezoid rule, Simpson's rule, and the fundamental theorem of calculus. The student seems to understand everything that we work on!"
"During my session with the student we covered local minimums and maximums, related rates, and limits. We started the session by covering related rates in detail. We looked at a few examples from his recent test. I showed him a solid procedure for solving related rates and we practiced the steps on the examples. Afterwards we looked quickly at local maximums and minimums and limits. These concepts were pretty well understood at the start of the session so we just covered some minor details about each of these topics."
"We went through material that will be covered on the student's test including upper/lower sums and the Trapezoidal Rule. He definitely feels confident about his test as he got a 100% on his last quiz. I left a few practice problems for him to go over before next session. He said he may not need to meet until next semester so we will confirm with father and go from there."
"Today the student and I worked on her test review together. It involved evaluating integrals using substitution, finding a function's maximum or minimum using derivatives, and series/sequences. She caught on to integral substitution quite quickly, and after some more practice problems I know it will be no problem for her. She has a test on Tuesday and I'm confident she will do great!"
"The student and I worked through many example problems on the review sheets. We figured out challenging problems using first and second derivatives as well as implicit differentiation problems. The student learned how to deal with trigonometric functions in the problem and how to interpret the given interval."
"We did a warm-up problem on evaluating a definite integral. For the rest of the session we covered the "total change" word problem, where a definite integral is used to calculate the total change in a variable where its rate of change is not constant. The student did a few simple examples to get some practice."
