Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued to review complex trigonometric functions and vectors. Specifically, we explored the double angle formulas and half angle formulas. We then completed the student's last problem set, which examined the intersection of cos (x) and -sin (2x) graphically and algebraically. It also provided a new vector problem involving air speed, wind speed, and ground speed. He continues to have a natural feel for the material. He has developed a deep understanding of the concepts, which allows him to move beyond solving the basic problems into solving more complex problems that he has not seen before. I anticipate he will do outstanding on his next exam this week."
"This session was about matrix operations. I helped the student get through the problems with her calculator that really focused on the law of inverses."
"The student has started reviewing for her final, starting first with the review over the conics section, using the distance formula and midpoint formulas to find equations of circles, and finding the standard form of an equation of a ellipse, parabola, and hyperbola."
"Today, the student and I discussed Geometric and Arithmetic sequences. We used the formulas to find the nth term and also the partial sums associated. We also helped to prepare for his quiz on Wednesday."
"The student and I met in preparation for her test on limits. We talked about different methods of finding the limit while working through her review sheet."
"Today we reviewed homework assignments for the student's math class. He did pretty well overall. We also reviewed some more topics concerning conics, mostly hyperbola equations. We also did more combinations and probability problems."
