Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Continued supplemental instruction of materials received and gone over in student's primary instruction class."
"The student and I went back over the subjunctive this time with more of an emphasis on when to use the subjunctive vs. the indicative. We also reviewed relative pronouns."
"Spent the time doing the unit test, which we will go over next week before starting on the subjunctive."
"The student has an English grammar test tomorrow on types of pronouns-personal, relative, verbs linking, action, transitive, and intransitive. We used the teacher's study guide, along with his slides, to review the definitions, as well as sentences that contained these grammatical forms. He knows his pronouns better than he knows his verbs. I want to keep reviewing these with him in both Latin and English."
"Today we went over a study guide that I made for the girls. It had all the information comprehensively from the last 15 lessons, and it took about an hour to go over (so the perfect amount of time). I made this study guide, because I will be testing them (I will make the exam) on Thursday on lesson 1-15 material. So we went over 3 prayers, the Sanctus, the Doxology, and the Table Blessing. Then we went over a lot of vocabulary, and I wouldn't test them nearly as much on that on the exam. After that, we went over verb endings again, which are really important. Then I had them translate a few words and short sentences for practice (there will be more of those on the exam), and finally we ended with practical Latin sayings. The girls did a great job today! They are usually easily distracted, but they did a good job saying on task and staying focused. They've come very far with Latin!"
"Today we went over his homework assignment. Then, we reviewed for his vocab quiz. Next, we did translation, parsing practice, and finished with more vocab quiz review."
