Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we worked on analogies, reading comprehension and synonyms which the student did very well on. We also worked on finding the perimeter of a trapezoid and he caught on quickly to this new concept. We also started working with Venn diagrams and sets of numbers."
"We continued working on building vocabulary and reading comprehension. The student is also carefully sounding out unfamiliar words rather than just guessing as he did before. He is making wonderful progress and is delightful company as well. He started working on his math skills using the website, and seems to like it."
"I specifically covered the verbal homework that I had assigned the student. We had a successful session as he is a very eager learner and is steadily making progress. We are approaching the 80s and I hope to aim consistently in the mid-80s within 2 weeks. I have assigned him homework accordingly."
"Today the student reviewed fractions, variables, reading comprehension, and OLSAT skills. She needs practice with fractions, variables and geometry basics such as solving areas questions. She is still enthusiastic and followed through on all assignments. She was assigned math concepts and reading of 20-30 min a day. She is reading To Kill A Mockingbird. She has homework from school to work on, too."
"The student and I worked to solidify some test taking strategies with the reading questions and went over some difficult questions that require a lot of attention. He did very well today and seems to have developed a good knack for analyzing more complex themes. We discussed the possibility of more sessions this week leading up to the test next weekend."
"The student is a very smart girl. She catches on to new material quickly. We went over adding and subtracting fractions. We went over how to convert from a decimal to a fraction. She needs more practice in converting from a improper fraction to a mixed number and adding or subtracting mixed numbers, so we'll be doing more of that in the future."
