Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I continued to go over the peak of industry in the United States. We discussed the supremacy of industrial capitalism, and its costs and benefits. From there, we went over a final review sheet, reviewing history from the Mexican-American War to the end of the Civil War."
"We reviewed topics from the post WWII period of US History. I brought an atlas of world history to try and give the student a visual representation of the changing landscape of the world. We also went over an English assignment concerning archetypal symbols in Catcher in the Rye."
"We covered the main events from the first half of the 20th Century including both World Wars, the Great Depression, the dropping of the Atomic bomb, etc. The student is beginning to connect events - how one event leads to another."
"We went through the student's annotations for his poetry assignment, which were fine. He was able to produce a thoughtful short analysis of the poem. We then reviewed the Latin homework. His Latin is very good."
"I was very happy with the student's 4 on the mock AP exam, and she can only go up from here. It is one of the most difficult AP exams you can take, so that is not a small achievement given where he was a few months ago. Because he doesn't need any substantive review, we went over examples of all of the concepts that we have studied so far that he can use to shore up his essay grades."
"Today, we worked on the chapter about the executive branch of government. We delved into the specifics of the Constitutional requirements for the presidency, and we also looked at the Cabinet and the Executive Offices."
