Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered volumes of pyramids and cones. The student had a great attitude toward the work we were doing. I showed him some shortcuts to finding volumes, and explained some similarities between pyramid and conical volumes."
"The student worked on his homework. The student seems more enthusiastic to answer the problems. We discussed the Math equations that seemed to be a slight challenge for him."
"Today, the student and I covered two sections before she was to take a math test on chapter 8 involving 30-60-90 triangles and 45-45-90 triangles. She improved in her ability to solve the equations once I explained the right approach. Our next session is scheduled for this Sunday."
"The student had a review packet that we spent most of the session on. I then had him work through problems from an old test from the same chapter that I used in my classroom. He did well overall. Overall, I think he will be well-prepared for his test on Thursday. He said he earned a B on his most recent quiz, which is an improvement from last semester."
"We covered mid-segments and what to do with them. I did a couple of examples for her, which she understood. She got a little tripped up with the algebra part, so I reminded her how to solve the equations that we set up. She did the last 5 parts of her homework mostly alone."
"The student and I went through his review packet for an upcoming exam. The topics we covered included area/perimeter (of circles, triangles, rectangles, trapezoids) and how to apply the formulas simultaneously for abstract shapes, 3-D rotations, volume, and Cavalieri's Principle. He seemed very comfortable with these topics, especially with additional explanation of the concepts. I left him to look over the review packet, as well as his previous homework assignments in preparation for his exam."
