Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on Chapter 10 questions and reviewing his Chapter 7 test for a retake. We looked at two sample t-tests as well as sample means/proportions."
"Exam review on confidence intervals, standard error, margin of error, critical values, one-proportion hypothesis testing, and p-values."
"The student and I worked on homework problems from chapter 8 with null hypothesis testing, specifically using the chi-squared and F test statistic."
"The student and I covered plotting coordinates on a graph, calculating distance between points, and determining reciprocal coordinates. He caught on quickly to each concept presented and appeared grateful for the explanation and breakdowns provided. He also reviewed calculating area of a trapezoid."
"We went over trigonometry questions from the student's SAT practice test book. For the most part he didn't know the formulas he could use when looking at a right triangle. We went over a few these problems and talked about the situations when he could apply the SohCahToa relationship. We also went over some complex numbers problems. Overall I could see an improvement in his approach after going over what relationships to apply. He was very well prepared for the session and had excellent notes on which problems he did need help on. His attitude was highly diligent as we worked, which impressed me a great deal."
"The student and I are in the back half of all three of her grade 4 books: multiplication, division, and decimals and fractions. In decimals and fractions she is practicing translating a improper fraction to a mixed number, and mixed numbers into improper fractions. She will be starting to add fractions for homework but we have already gone over this skill when writing mixed numbers as improper fractions, so this should be simple for her. She is also continuing to do long division and long multiplication. She is stronger in division, but doesn't do too bad at multiplication, so we are focusing on that now."
