"Today we continued going through SAT Math problems until we had completed each Math section from a practice test, that way the student has seen plenty of math practice questions. We went through every question he struggled with, and I showed him different ways to approach them, and a few shortcuts to make the problems easier. He seems to be pretty good when it comes to math, and so he didn't have too many problems, but there is still a little bit of work and practice that I think will help him."
"Today was my first session with this student . He's a good student and we were able to work through a number of problems. We've begun by reviewing the Arithmetic concepts from the missed problems on his diagnostic SAT. Today we worked on percents, solutions, interest, whole vs part, functions, domain, and compound functions. He did a good job with the major concepts but it was definitely good review for him to go over the arithmetic concepts that he hasn't seen in a long time. He was hesitant at first but after we worked through a problem together he was able to quickly and correctly solve other similar problems. We will continue to work through the math concepts doing general review and assessing skills as they arise until we've covered the full SAT. His homework is to complete 2 math sections in his SAT practice test book. We will review them during our next session."
"The student and I covered the equation of a circle. We did some very difficult problems and reviewed how to find the equation of the circle, how to find the center of the circle, and how to find the radius of the circle. We covered how to use equations to find points on the circle. Lastly we covered how to solve for area using the distance and midpoint formulas. We are meeting again on Tuesday and we will cover more problems on circles. She is reviewing what we went over today and then finishing it on her own."
