"The student did GREAT today. She was expecting to forget a lot of the concepts from earlier in the week, but she remembered them all. It was great to hear her say that she didn't need my help at all with the electron configuration questions on her homework. We went over the periodic table trends and comparisons of various atomic characteristics. Tomorrow we are going to go over Slater's Rules."
"The student had a great attitude toward the materials we covered tonight. With some guidance he was able to reason through the practice questions and get to the answers. Conceptually, I think he has a firm understanding of Le Chatelier's principle, equilibria and the use of phase diagrams. He mentioned that he reviews/ reads over the materials in preparation for his bigger exams but does not spend as much time practicing problem sets. I encouraged him to use more practice questions as a way of better preparing for these bigger exams."
"The student had a chemistry test the following day, so we spent time reviewing his notes, worksheets, labs, and quizzes. To remember the differences between ionic and covalent compounds, I helped him create a mnemonic. We spent time completing worksheet questions that he had not finished, clarifying a few concepts, and repeating quiz problems. He is certainly more prepared for this test than previous ones. More dedication during class time to note-taking and correcting mistakes will be extremely beneficial in the future."
