"Today we finished HTML Part 2 and actually completed everything for html! The student did a great job and learned almost everything there is to know about html. I also emailed her (and her parents) some homework assignments to do until the next time we meet. Next time we will cover CSS and how to make all the fun html elements look much nicer."
"We went over the class diagram, as well as a sequence diagram. I suggested some changes, and helped the student understand some of the things that are being asked for by her professor. I gave some suggestions on different ways to implement the Clue-Less game that she is building with a group."
"I covered steps to create the coffee shop point of sale system. I outlined the steps to set up the project based on the teacher's user stories. I provided links to gems that can be used to assist the student in creating this project. I also gave her the info to deploy her project to a web server which gets her an extra 10 bonus points for this project."
"Tonight the student got about halfway through an edit of his paper (rough draft due tomorrow and final submission mid April). The groundwork done last session (crafting a tight and thought-provoking thesis) yielded good fruit tonight. His confidence in organizing and presenting a professional argument for high standards of training, instrumentation, and safety features for unmanned aircraft operating in US national airspace is growing. We will meet for an hour Wednesday evening this week after he has a chance to "use my methods" (nod to Conan-Doyle) to revise his draft."
"Today, the student and I worked more with Microsoft Excel. We practiced changing the font style, color, and background color. We also worked quite a bit with the graphs that Microsoft Excel can create. We practiced changing titles, adding horizontal or vertical axes labels, and changing the color scheme of graphs. She is working very hard to learn these software programs, and has even begun doing work on her own using the tools I have taught her."
"The student and I finished up his last assignment and made sure it was all ready to submit. I had a great time working with the student this semester and I wish him the best with his major and pursuits in computer science."
