Tutoring review by Gerard in Port Washington, WI
We reviewed concepts for assessment exam. We began study packet and focused on ranking fractions in order from smallest to largest. Next, we will cover ranking decimals, then the student will be asked to ranking fractions and decimals in order from smallest to largest, and vice versa.

Tutoring review by Sabrina in Port Washington, WI
In this session, we focused on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals. The student understood the connection between fractions and decimals i.e. 1/4 = 25/100 = .25. I taught her how doing the division helps to find the decimal.

Tutoring review by Skyler in Port Washington, WI
We spent most of the time working on the binomial theorem, including binomial expansion and multiplying polynomials. We also worked on long division with polynomials and talked about factoring. The student mostly just needs help with some of the examples. She is very smart and once she sees it, she grasps the concepts quickly. She has a good attitude, and even though she has a lot of work to catch up on, she works hard to understand the material. I left her with some notes on the binomial theorem and with long division of polynomials, as that was what seemed to be the most unfamiliar to her. We did some examples from each of her assignments so that she became familiar with the concept and had something to refer to as a reference, and she planned on finishing the rest on her own.

Tutoring review by Wade in Port Washington, WI
The student had moved onto exponents. We covered the basic rules of exponents and then worked through several practice problems that he was given by his teacher. He had some initial trouble with negative, fractional exponents but improved dramatically by the end of the session. We finished up by working through some of his homework together.

Tutoring review by Sherna in Port Washington, WI
We did the entire ISEE test and reviewed. He tested in the 75th percentiles in all areas. We need to improve scores in reading, verbal, and quantitative. We also need to improve writing. When he first took the test he was in the 75th percentile in math and quantitative. He was in the 25th for reading and 50th for verbal. So, this is a vast improvement.

Tutoring review by Maddy Grace in Port Washington, WI
In all of our previous lessons the student was in a bit of a crunch mode, since exams were coming up. This time, since it's the beginning of new material, we were much more laid-back, and I focused on more deep, thorough education (instead of just trying to cram all the test material). The subject was polygons of various sizes and side-counts, and all the different properties they have. In addition to the formulas given in his book, I showed her some alternate ways to find some angles/sides/et cetera. Then, for the second worksheet, you had to prove a shape was a certain type of shape based on axioms and theorems, which was pretty tough! We wrote them all down.
