Anatomy Tutoring review by Keith in Pflugerville, TX
We covered the Diels Alder reaction today and spent most of our time on how to recognize the endo adduct in bicyclic and monocyclic examples. We worked several examples where we assign stereochemistry based on the endo addition model. We also worked one problem dealing with regioisomers of the nitration of a series of dicarboxybenzenes. It is hard at first to visualize what endo versus exo addition looks like. The student is going to build models to help see the difference between the two modes of addition.
