How can a tutor assist you in conquering Anatomy?

The study of medicine, or health in general, requires an in depth understanding of how the body works -- the different organs and systems that interact to maintain life. One of the basic fundamentals to such an understanding begins with a study of anatomy.

The study of anatomy is not limited to just humans, as it applies to other animals, even single-celled varieties, and even plants, but for many college level courses, the primary focus is on human anatomy. There is a lot to learn in such courses, even with this more narrow focus, and sometimes it is worthwhile to consider some outside assistance. Students looking for anatomy tutoring in Peabody, MA, can get assistance locating a private anatomy tutor from the educational directors at Varsity Tutors.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Courtney in Peabody, MA
The student is taking his Organic Chemistry final tomorrow. We reviewed the question that he missed from the problems assigned by his professor and the practice exams. These covered application of a range of the concepts he has learned in class. He is well prepared to take his exam tomorrow and has a strong grasp of the material.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Keith in Peabody, MA
We covered acid-base reactions. The reaction depends on the pKa of the two acids under consideration. We covered several synthesis problems that involved carboxylic acids. One example involved an intermolecular Friedel-Crafts reaction. The second involved the conversion of a nitrile to an acid. We discussed reactions of alcohols: oxymercuration, Williamson ether synthesis and bimolecular condensation reactions to form ethers.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Danny in Peabody, MA
We spent the majority of the session talking about the properties of conjugated dienes (i.e. resonance, increased stability, etc.) and going over the Diels-Alder reaction. The Diels-Alder reaction can present itself in many different ways, and if the diene is cyclic it will produce products that look unusual to students. Thus, we spent time going over properties of the Diels-Alder reaction, stereochemistry of the reaction, types of electron-withdrawing groups found on the dienophile, and how to draw products when the reacting dienophile is a cyclic compound. The student picked up the material well, and should simply practice a little bit to solidify his understanding of the reaction. Next time, we will look at products of Diels-Alder reactions and predict the reactants based on that.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Rebecca in Peabody, MA
The student and I started the session by reviewing his lab report on the Diels-Alder Reaction. We discussed the IR and NMR spectroscopy problems in greatest detail. Then, we reviewed his lecture notes on the electronics of the Diels-Alder Reaction, focusing on the electronic and regiochemical constraints on the reaction. We finished our session by discussing orbital hybridization and pi systems, particularly as they relate to the Diels-Alder reaction between a diene and dienophile. We plan to cover problems from Chapter 15 of the textbook in our next session. In general, we will plan to spend Wednesday sessions problem-solving and Saturday sessions reviewing his lab reports and problem-solving.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Brandon in Peabody, MA
We reviewed epoxide reactions and went over the chapter on conjugated dienes and the Diels-Alder reaction. I explained how conjugated dienes are more stable and how they can be used to stabilize certain types of reactions. We also went over free-radical bromination reactions, then went over the Diels-Alder reaction, including how to arrange electron-withdrawing and electron-donating groups and how to deconstruct a finished Diels-Alder product. I showed the student some problems from the chapter that would help her get some additional practice. Overall, the student seemed to understand the concepts very well.

The student and I finished working through her test corrections. We then went over her physics homework on momentum. I also quizzed her and helped her review for her biology exam.
