How can a tutor assist you in conquering Anatomy?

How much do you know about the human anatomy? Beyond what you can see with your eyes, most people don't know much about what goes on inside the human body. Anatomy courses, which can be taken in post-secondary school, could teach you all about this. You may want to take anatomy courses if you're considering getting into fields such as biology, epidemiology, animal science, biochemistry, genetics, clinical research, microbiology, optometry, or pharmaceutical, among others.

Anatomy is a course that teaches you how everything in your body works, from how food is digested and dispersed throughout your system to how your red and white blood cells fight viruses and deliver oxygen to your organs. You can graduate from an anatomy course to take other subjects revolving around genetics, chemistry, and biology. You can also choose to study more about humans, marine animals, birds, land mammals, and so on.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Adiba in Newton, MA
Today we reviewed the first law of thermodynamics and the sign conventions for work, heat, and energy. We defined enthalpy and the differences between exothermic and endothermic reactions. We also learned about Hess's Law and the rules that govern that addition and multiplication of heat of reaction. Lastly, we did a lot questions to hone our skills.

Today, we finished up chapter 3. We started off with a review of last week's lesson and I was happy that the student reviewed this week's material, which was apparent when I quizzed him. He easily absorbed most information and was able to keep up for the most of this lesson. We briefly went into molecular and ionic compounds as well as empirical, molecular, and structural formula. For the next lesson, we should cover what's left of naming compounds such as rules and polyatomic anions to memorize. He has a test coming up on Thursday, so our next lesson will be on Sunday.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Chelsey in Newton, MA
Today the student didn't have any pre-calculus to work on but she had a project for chemistry to work on that involved graphing periodic trends and creating tables. I helped her figure out how to set up the graphs (3 variables using two sides) and what exactly the teacher wanted on the project. We worked on setting up the graphs in a logical manner and interpreting them. I helped her with about half of the assignment and she was more confident that she could finish the rest on her own.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Harrison in Newton, MA
The student and I spent the majority of our time with heat energy problems including heat capacity, specific heat, heat transfer, and heat equations. We started touching base on internal energy equations involving work and heat by understanding what sign to use for heat and work depending on the situation. Student showed progress by completing problems independently in the book and on his online homework. He understands heat gained and heat lost concepts. He is beginning to understand past material better and we will continue working on them every session. His extra practice is contained in the book and he can also review his online homework. No concerns about the session.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Tommy in Newton, MA
The student and I went over her practice essay on hemoglobin-oxygen dissociation curves. Her essay was very well written and with some excellent points, but I got the feeling that not everything she wrote was in her own words. Therefore, the majority of our focus on physiology was directed towards re-wording her essay. By asking her questions and making her write out the full chemical reaction catalyzed by carbonic anhydrase within human red blood cells, she increased her conceptual understanding of hemoglobin's oxygen and carbon dioxide carrying capacity, as well as all the physiological factors that affect hemoglobin's affinity for each, in both the lungs and human tissues undergoing cellular respiration.
