Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we worked on some discussion questions. She had to answer questions about matrices, probability, periodic functions, and trigonometric identities. She understood the topics, and she came up with good examples for the questions."
"The student got his latest quiz back: 30/30! Great work, even better in that the final test will be the same set of questions. For this set of problems, we again worked on methods for avoiding mistakes, and that appears to have improved his score."
"Last session was over secant and its properties, chords, bisector and we solved various practice problems for test scheduled coming Friday. The student should be ready for the test which is on chapter 12 after one more session."
"There is a lot to cover, so I did an overview of the topics he had trouble with. We did a few word problems, some division, slope-line questions, and factoring. Next week I am going to do some more word problems and factoring, since I think that is where most of his trouble lies. He has the basics down, but I think he needs more practice to become more familiar with these types of problems."
"During this session, the student and I reviewed for his math final. We worked through one of the reviews posted by his teacher with a focus on the trig problems."
"To review for the student's final exam, we utilized a worksheet packet given to her by her teacher to cover two chapters from her textbook. We reviewed fractions and decimals- multiplying, dividing, adding, subtracting, solving equations and reducing."
"We went over review packets about polynomials (factoring them, solving the quadratic equation, etc.), systems of linear equations, lines of best fit, and radical expressions in preparation for the student's math final."
"We went over the statistics, standard deviation, and systems of equations. After, I went over the topics, I gave him review problems on permutations and combinations."
"I worked with both of the students at the same time. We worked on conversions of cups to pints to gallons and reviewed fractions for 30 minutes. We also did a reading assessment so that I could better gauge what their weaknesses are in terms of reading."
"We covered different types of linear equations and inequalities along with simplifying and square roots. We went through her online homework/quiz and I explained how to do each type of question along with allowing her to do some on her own with the freedom of asking me questions."
"Today session with the student went really well. We worked on reviewing for his exam which covered most of what his class covered this year. I didn't see any new grades, yet but I was informed that he will be allowed to retake some old exams which is great news. We will be working on getting him ready for those in our next sessions. He is getting caught up with his other classmates and is doing a great job at it. No extra practice yet, but I will be giving him extra practice problems in our next session to get him ready for his retakes. No concerns."
"In today's session we worked on division as well as multiplication. We practiced with a multiplication worksheet and a multiplication card game which was then followed by two different division worksheets. Also, we worked on long division."
