Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I met for our first session at the library. We first discussed his history with the test and I reviewed his score report from the last test. We then talked about some general study strategy for the test and began by practicing logical reasoning questions. We went through a total of 20 questions. He is struggling to come up with an accurate prediction of the right answer. He also has trouble identifying wrong answer choices. We went over the questions he missed in detail and I illustrated how to use the strategies we discussed to find the correct answer. I gave him a number of notes on our lessons from the session and also assigned homework ahead of our next session."
"We reviewed Logic Games, and did a sample together to review parallel universe use and strategy. We discussed the last practice test, which had a particularly difficult RC section. When you have more than one possible answer in an AR question, something is wrong with the diagram or rules-- you need to reevaluate; when you know you didn't read in-depth enough for a complicated RC passage, go back and understand what is being said, as quickly as possible; and don't doubt yourself when you have the answer."
"We went over a couple of old tests. The student has been scoring well overall. I stressed one practical point for most of the session: connect conditionals when possible. This can save plenty of time and effort. The student is all set for Saturday."
"We worked on Logic Games. The student could do extremely well on this section if he practices the essential skills. He needs to work on logical notation and writing everything down, as well as setting up and using his game board. We will continue to work on this next session."
"We worked on logical reasoning, and the student has improved a lot over the past week. He got all the easy ones right and some of the harder ones. We worked on the "must be trues." We also did two games, pizza toppings and packing."
"We worked through Logic Games from three different tests. The student has a solid understanding, yet I still found some suggestions for tweaks and we worked several problems together."
