Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we worked through both the pseudo-code and actual code for the student's assignment where he had to store inventory items in parallel arrays and then calculate a selling price for those items based on their cost. This covered a lot of syntactical practice and also some loop logic. My biggest advice for him is to just make sure he's going over his assignments even when he's finished them to double check that his answers are right and that he's corrected any tiny mistakes that may have happened along the way. Great work."
"This session we focused on integrating all the resources of his project together. He was using Slack to call to a custom 3rd party file that he wrote, which then calls FourSquare to get a response that carries all the way back to Slack. We worked heavily on PHP code and how it operates. We debugged existing code so the PHP file would run properly. The student now has his project working in a generic state. It is up to him to polish to program to a clean deliverable."
"This session was devoted to helping the student with the implementation of a Huffman tree for compression. He seems to have understood the major algorithm points well. As occasionally happens, he did have some issues with various Java classes with which he was not terribly familiar. However, he did understand well the actual algorithm content."
"This session was all about getting connected to a remote SQL Server. I think has done amazing work in her class. I'm sure she will do well."
"We continued our discussion on MySQL database and JDBC driver. Also worked on several java program to read, write, select, create in MySQL database. Fixed several non-compiled code related to GUI and JDBC. He was eager to complete the review."
