Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This was my first session with the student. The first 10 or 15 minutes were spent trying to understand how his class structure works and what the teacher's expectations are, as well as how the teacher explains the information. It seems that the class is a lot of self teaching and that the instructor is pretty open ended in his approach for his students. His material is very difficult and is easily college level. It is mostly proof writing and the book has very little explanation and assistance. We were able to finish about 7 or so proofs, but some of the material I will have to review. I would love to keep working with him."
"Students A and B: went over geometry quizzes, asked if they needed help with volume (last week was review on surface area) but they did not have any questions. Student C: helped with homework on graphing with inequalities and absolute value, Biology was talked about but not reviewed, current topic is cellular structure"
"The student and I met to study for her geometry test. She did well on the theorems and postulates and in solving problems, but she had a bit more of an issue with the proofs, which are quite new to her. We practiced a bunch of them together though to help familiarize her with the format."
"The student and I worked over all the different ways triangles can be congruent: SSS, SAS, AAS, HL, etc. He understands the differences and how to find them based on following the triangle around to figure which is the appropriate postulate."
"We went over the student's review packet for her Geometry test tomorrow. She had a few questions/concerns but mostly was able to complete it on her own. She also had homework from the textbook (Chapter Test), and she flew through our review easily. She said she felt very prepared for her test. We also briefly went over her Chemistry homework/worksheet."
"The student and I reviewed for his Geometry final, and I left the session feeling that he was well prepared."
