Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student was very willing to learn. First we reviewed numbers, dates and other vocabulary from the last time. As well as colors. We also played with her little animal toys to review the names of items. Today she has learned how to write year and heart. And how to say, white and elephant."
"The student presented the story book he's been studying and showed great improvement. We practiced the past tense compared to experiential marker, we reviewed the question words, practiced conversation and discussed study practices."
"We went over Ch. 14- vocabulary, grammar structure, reading comprehension, and culture. We went over book and partial workbook exercises."
"The student and I went over a workbook page that practiced new vocabulary relating to parts of the body and a visit to the doctor's office. He wrote out his answers and looked up words that he didn't know. This was also good review for different verb endings: preterite, imperfect, and present. We then moved on to his study guide for the final, where he practiced using direct object pronouns. We also worked on vocabulary from earlier chapters."
"Today we covered conjugating verbs through conversations in Spanish. The student is able to speak Spanish well but struggles with conjugating words in some instances. We practiced conversations and correct complete sentences. She became more confident at speaking Spanish and was able to complete several well conjugated sentences. She also feels that she has difficulty understanding Spanish speakers when they speak too fast, so practicing conversation, vocabulary, and hearing the language more often will help her. Then, we went over some vocabulary words and phrases. We watched the first episode of a Spanish video series that included the vocabulary words we went over. A homework assignment with questions on the video, in Spanish, was assigned. In addition, new vocabulary words were assigned, the task of watching the second episode of the Spanish learning series, and a speed game for conjugating verbs."
"Started with a quiz on what we worked on last time. We've been going over everything, starting over in the textbook and moving at a slower pace. She was struggling most with remembering a lot of the basic words, but that's very common. I left her with 10 new sets of words to remember."
