Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We talked quite a bit about the writing section, specifically about how to write a high-level essay. We began reviewing a few math strategies and concepts."
"Today's session was primarily a review of a complete practice test. We also focused on essay writing."
"My first GMAT tutoring session with the student went well. As she expressed in our introductory call, she needs help on both the Quantitative and Verbal sections of the GRE. She took her first exam a year ago, and she still plans to take the GRE again on April 28. She would like to improve her score on both the Quantitative section and the Verbal section, but she would like to emphasize improvement on the Quantitative questions. In today's session, the student expressed that she wanted to review exponents, inequalities, geometric figures, coordinate geometry, and data interpretation. So, we started our session by working through practice questions involving those concepts in Quantitative sections of a GRE study guide. She initially had difficulty combining exponents in equations, but she gained some understanding as she completed more of those questions. The inequalities and fractions concepts came more easily to her with practice, as did the data interpretation questions. We then moved to geometry concepts, reviewed formulas and properties for rectangles, triangles, and circles, and applied strategies for solving geometry questions. She will continue to work on additional geometry questions on her own. For our second session, we plan to review strategies for the Verbal section of the exam, including Reading Comprehension, Text Completion, and Sentence Equivalence practice questions."
