Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student and I were able to meet for the week and discuss algebraic manipulation of equations with multiple variables. We practiced plugging in values and talked about the most efficient ways for him to go about solving most of these types of problems. Everything went pretty smoothly!"
"In this session, the student and I reviewed for his statistics final. His class is having this portion of the final now, and then will be learning non-statistics concepts for the rest of the semester. The final covered chapters 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, and 9. Since 8 and 9 were fairly recent and fresh in his mind, we mainly reviewed the earlier chapters. Some of the concepts had been applied throughout the other sections, but others were very specific to the section. We reviewed his old quizzes and tests, and well as used the book for guidance. I am confident that he will do well on his final!"
"We covered probability, binomial distribution, and other key topics of statistics. The student was preparing for an upcoming test. He understood the material. I also taught him how to do calculations on the TI83 calculator. I also showed him how to solve it by hand. He is improving significantly, he told me he was grateful of having me as his tutor."
"We looked at conditional tables, percentages, and applied these concepts to real data. Like many students, she struggles when looking at the material herself because she finds it difficult to interpret without someone to talk about it with. After we were done discussing it, however, she was perfectly clear on all concepts."
"Today we worked on finishing the data analysis for the student's research paper. We performed a two-way ANOVA analysis on her collected data and I showed her how to interpret the results. We also created graphical displays for her data and I also helped her with formatting the data for inclusion in her paper and PowerPoint."
"We covered concepts in probability, including independent and dependent events. The student worked through problems online. She quickly picked it up."
