"We covered logical reasoning, specifically, assumption questions and the difference between necessary and sufficient assumptions. I think it's always a good idea to understand why you got the answers you did as much as why you didn't choose another answer."
"The student has a Physics test tomorrow, so we went over a review sheet and problems with concepts of rates of changes, for example."
"Today we discussed her performance on her area test; she had the second highest score in her class. She did miss four questions, but with her corrections, she scored 94%. We discussed the content of her missed questions to see where she went wrong, as well. Then, we moved to reading comprehension since we have mainly focused on Math for the past week and a half. I was able to upload the first passage and then the platform had issues. We finished up the comprehension passage. The last 40 minutes we worked on vocabulary, synonyms, and words in context. "
"Today we worked on unit one for the pre-algebra course she needs to place out of. We mainly went over whole numbers and operations/applications. Most of it was review for her, so that was good. I'm sending some practice for her to work on over the course of the next week, and then next week we plan to start working on fractions."
"We worked through two critical reading passages and discussed how best to split them up in order to figure out what information is important. We also worked through more math problems and went through the substitution method of systems of equations."
"Reviewed major chords. Looked at common I-V-vi-IV progressions in pop music. Looked at minor chords. Reviewed dotted quarter eighth rhythm and practiced dictation. Looked at dotted quarter eighth rhythm in the context of Beethoven and sight singing/solfege. Looked at orchestral scores. Talked about transposing instruments. Ear training with major/minor chords. Began talking about composition with melody writing. Looked at Mozart 8 bar phrases. Excellent progress!!"
