Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today's session was spent working on some questions concerning rate law and rate constant and order of reactions. We did several practice problems as well as a set of homework assignments that the student had. We then switched gears and began working on some concepts in electrostatics and capacitance."
"The student and I covered Lewis structures, molecular polarity, dipole moments, covalent bonds, ionic bonds and VSEPR theory in preparation for her upcoming test this Thursday. We developed a general step-by-step method to draw any Lewis structures, including how to calculate the formal charge of any atom in a molecule. The formal charge allows her to decipher whether extra electrons need to be added and whether extra bonds need be added. The student asked for extra practice regarding these topics, so I looked one up on the internet and sent it her via email."
"I helped the student prepare for a test by going through steps on how to recognize and solve different problem types. She asked many great questions and is doing fine with the material. Additional practice problems to build more confidence is all she needs at this point."
