Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I worked with the student today and had a super fun time. She's getting so much stronger with her Algebra - it's fabulous to see. She's also doing fabulously in Physical Science."
"We worked on several brainteasers today that were extra challenging. The first student is very good with math problems, so working on a difficult brainteaser was a good way to force him to use test-taking strategies. He was able to draw pictures and solve the brainteaser. The second student was also given a brainteaser."
"Completed English study sheet. Discussed need for more organization. Discussed outlining while reading."
"Today, at the student's request, I assisted him in placing a call to Microsoft technical support to attempt to install the software on his Mac device. During the call, I assisted the student in articulating the issue to various representatives, as the two were frequently transferred from department to department. During intervals in which they were on hold, I helped the student create folders of apps and programs which he had requested that I help him install. I also showed him how to use the camera functions."
"We had a pretty good session today. I tried to keep the students motivated. Having the boys listen well takes a lot of diligence! Otherwise, we did some good drills on ball control, shooting, and heading. As their mother requested, I also showed the boys some good stretches for soccer. We finished by doing a scrimmage, where I coached them on opening into space when they do not have the ball."
"We reviewed computer skills for business, like searching the internet, processing a credit report online, and creating an online profile. We discussed resolving issues on reports. The student did a practice project and made a business presentation by downloading images from the internet, searching for articles, copying and pasting information from a website into a Word document, saving the files, naming the files, inserting the images into the Word doc, and finally, proofreading and editing."
