"We discussed and worked problems dealing mainly with electric force, electric field, flux and just a little bit of electrostatics. There are some very involved problems dealing with electric field as a function of distance of a point from a rod-shaped conductor; we just touched on these."
"We moved into rotational dynamics and converting dynamics, energy, and momentum equations into cylindrical coordinate systems. The student showed significantly improved solution process for torque problems, and moved into these new sections without difficulty."
"The student is learning about simple harmonic motion and waves. We reviewed a few things from the chapters and then worked through online problems. The problems mostly focused on velocity of a wave, period, frequency, and acceleration of a rotating object."
"The student and I reviewed his homework problems for his new unit on optics, including the Doppler effect, polarized light, and mirror equations. He has a good grasp on the concepts and just needs some extra help to keep him focused on his work. I'm also trying to get copies of his notes ahead of time, to keep track of what he's working on, so hopefully I can come to the session with extra work for him to practice with me."
"Having finished optics, we moved on to modern physics. Modern physics is a field that is more conceptually complex than mathematically rigorous. The student had had a day of class over the content so he had a basic understanding of some of the key points. We covered blackbody radiation, E=mc^2, time dilation, length contraction, and the Stefan-Boltzmann law."
"We reviewed concepts in magnetism, including magnetic forces on moving charges, the right hand rules, and what causes magnetism. We applied these concepts to discussions about magnetism and to practice problems in the textbook."
"During this session the student and I continued reviewing various subtopics within Newtonian Mechanics (torque/rotational statics and oscillations). We took a look at questions that I had collected as well as those from the student's review book."

"We covered the topics of reflection, refraction, interference and diffraction. We talked about constructive and destructive interference, phase differences and what things cause them, and calculating angles of interference patterns."
"For this session we started covering magnetism. There was a lot of material to cover. We got through magnetic fields, forces on moving charges or wires with current in magnetic fields, and circular motion of charges in magnetic fields. He did well. He showed good comprehension of everything we covered, but will need to continue practicing as the material is somewhat abstract and requires reinforcement. He plans to practice and attempt the remaining material on his own, and may schedule another session before his next test."
