Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed 4 chapters for upcoming mid term. In chapter 8 we reviewed bonding and types of bonds. Chapter 9 we reviewed naming compounds and structure. Chapter 10 we reviewed all aspects of using moles and conversions with empirical formulas. Chapter 11 we reviewed the types of chemical reactions and balancing chemical equations. Student was tasked to complete the definitions of vocabulary for chapter 8 to clarity in concepts."
"The student and I covered how to set up and solve chemical equilibrium problem. We covered Le Chatelier's principle and the effects of temperature, pressure, volume, and concentration of equilibriums. We also reviewed two older quizzes taken by him."
"During this session we went over solubility. We spoke of mixtures, effects of temperature, pressure, surface area, precipitates, etc. We finished the student's review packet and worked on problems from the review book. Overall this session went well."
"In this lesson, we discussed a review worksheet for the student's upcoming exam. We worked on net force, frictional force and calculating the acceleration from that. We also discussed Newton's first and third law. We drew force diagrams and free body diagrams as well. We also discussed frictional force on an incline. She seems to have trouble remembering the equations to solve the problems, but once he looks at his equation sheet he tends to do well."
"In this session, we briefly reviewed graphing of velocity and acceleration. We then covered a more in depth review/practice of acceleration and velocity problems discussing appropriate equations for different types of problems and strategies for solving them."
"In this session, we completed two problems from the student's textbook focusing on vector magnitudes and directions. The primary thing he was struggling with was adding together the unit vectors before taking the sum of the squares. We will review these equations and procedures in the next session."
