Mr. D. was able to keep my daughter engaged and interested the entire session. He made her feel confident with reading. She stated that he was the "best teacher in the world". She gave him two thumbs up and a heart. I'm very pleased with my investment towards my child's education using Varsity Tutors.

Do they have an IEP or 504 plan? (We have tutors that specialize in learning differences)

The tutor that was paired with my daughter was perfect and fits Bella's needs. Bella struggles with attention and has been on a 504 plan for years. The tools used, the interaction and flexibility are priceless. I was hesitant at first but now I'd do it again and I recommend Varsity Tutors!!

The student and I continued with the math section and focused on quadratic equations, systems of equations, and exponents. She is doing well and has a practice test to do before our next session in both the math and science sections.

Today, we reviewed comma rules related to essential/nonessential clauses, introductions, joining different types of clauses, and lists. The student scored a 7-point improvement over his previous score. He finished the test in 47 minutes total. We also briefly began to review geometry, including special right triangles and circles. I asked the student to complete an ACT science and math test before our next session.

ACT Reading Tutoring review by Meghan in Roswell, GA
The student and I worked on the tricky reading section on the ACT today in addition to working on grammatical tips and tricks. The student showed his strength in the math section, and answered 100% of the questions that I asked him tonight correctly. He seemed really proud of himself, and I was really proud of that as well!

ACT Reading Tutoring review by Khalil in Roswell, GA
This session, the student and I finished the English section of a practice ACT test, and started its math section. She would benefit from being able to better select which noun in a sentence takes priority as the subject. In the math section, she clearly displayed that she had been practicing and was comfortable with the concepts we practiced previously.

ACT Reading Tutoring review by Smith in Roswell, GA
The student and I went over the math homework that I assigned her, then finished the first practice test math section for more practice. We then moved on to some reading and science practice, with emphasis on strategies for making those sections more efficient. She expressed the most dislike of the natural science passage, so I gave her some tips specific to the more jargon-heavy passages (as opposed to the prose fiction, which is more inference-based). She did fairly well on the science section, but we pinpointed one of her major problems with the test--she rarely reads the whole question, especially when it's particularly long. We talked a little bit about ways to counteract that tendency, and to compensate for it as much as possible (checking for numbers, rereading the last sentence before finalizing an answer).
