Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Concepts: piecewise functions. function composition, and inverse functions. The student demonstrated a thorough understanding of the topics that will be covered on his in-class exam."
"The student and I worked on converting degrees to minutes and seconds, finding the six trig ratios given different information (a point, a degree, etc.), and solving for a side when given an angle and another side. He did a great job and seems to understand the concepts pretty well. He may need to work on cross multiplying or flipping the equation and solving. This came up when solving for a side of a triangle when given an angle and another side. We may need to continue to work on this in the future."
"The student has a quiz coming up on solving trigonometric equations, so today, she worked on many practice problems from her homework assignment. I also gave her additional practice problems. She understands really well and maintains an A for this quarter."
"Tonight, the student was able to finish up her test corrections for her past exam. They mainly consisted of errors regarding the period change (P=2*pi/B), and we discussed how to better tackle those problems in the future. In the last half hour, we started to review trig transformations and how to tackle inverse trig functions regarding non-unit circle points. We worked through her teacher's example problem of constructing a triangle and the student felt confident at the end of the sessions in those type of problems. I asked her to continue to work on homework prior to our session so we can go over the problems/ topics that are giving her trouble."
"We went over inverse functions, one-to-one functions, and composition functions. Through the homework, the student got to know the way to solve problems and the link between concepts and problems. She is quite smart and if she does more exercises, she will definitely do better."
"The student and I met today and continued with our foundational skills. I've assigned more homework from a packet that we are working on. We will go over that during our next session and continue to push forward."
