Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Solving ratios, cross-multiplication and combining like terms. Reviewed for a social studies quiz on the American Revolution."
"I tutored Student 1 in Language Arts and Math. I then proceeded to tutor Student 2 on her Algebra review sheets on proportions and angle measures."
"During this session we went through a review of everything we had gone over so far, and I gave her a whole bunch of practice problems to work through. She needed help the most with actually working through problems, especially when the numbers get complicated with fractions."
"The student and I had our first session. We worked several algebra and geometry problems online to help her prepare for her next attempt at the teacher's certification exam. In the past she has come close to passing the math sections. She seems to be catching on quickly as we reviewed some of the basics as we explored these problems."
"We did some more review on absolute value equations and inequalities. The student had some trouble in the start with identifying solution sets to intersections and unions, but she seemed to improve by the end of the session. She needs more practice, however. Otherwise, she did fairly well overall."
"Today we worked on exponential growth and decay problems, the student's unit review, and some science review as well. He improved tremendously overnight on the exponential growth and decay material. He's still having a little bit of difficulty with the idea that while an increase in "x" represents a one unit increase on the graph, that "unit" could be any number of years, depending on the context. He seemed to understand it outside of this section, but it seems like the ideas of half-lives are tripping him up a little bit, and he's overthinking it. We will continue to work on this issue. The unit review went relatively well, of the questions he did answer, he only missed 3."
