Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student brought home an exam. We went through her mistakes and I noted that she would have scored much higher if she had focused on accentuation and spelling. After reviewing the exam, I helped her study for a vocabulary quiz. By the end of the session she could translate the words from Spanish to English and produce the Spanish word when given the English word. I advised her to continue reviewing, paying close attention to the spelling and accents."
"We did practice with verb conjugation, imperfect vs preterite, and vocabulary. The mom happily reported to me that the student got a 90 or 95 on her last test! Now her overall grade is an 85 (it was a 70 before). I am very pleased to hear this news! She is a lot more confident with her work."
"We read a bit of the book The Little Prince, then we talk about friendship. We read about the prepositions and did an exercise to see all of them and then we started with exercises of the preposition "hacia." Then we wrote a letter to Santa and corrected the orthography."
"The student did really well today as he mainly did more homework for his Spanish class out of several worksheets. He understands the material well after each session and says the sessions are really helping him a lot. His professor has informed him that his grade has improved from a D to a high C."
"We looked over an assignment that the student had to complete about physical appearance. It required that she read an article and answer the questions given. Hopefully she will be caught up in this class in a timely fashion. She has a lot of work to do."
"Topics covered included imperfect tense, preterite, and contrasting the two. We reviewed grammar concepts and exercises previously completed by the student from a Spanish grammar book. We also practiced reading out loud and engaging in conversation."
