Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I worked on some review problems in math. Her mom wanted us to review the conversion from fractions and decimals and back again. We also talked about Newton's second law and I gave her real world examples to work with."
"We went over chemistry concepts dealing with equilibrium of acids and bases and buffers. Practice is necessary, but at this point, memorization of equations is key. Start/end table practice of buffers is the next concept that we are going to be working on, then we will move on to chapter 6 and 18."
"We continued reviewing using the AP Biology textbook from last session. Various topics from genetics covered the entirety of the session time, and there's still more to cover. Specifically, the central dogma of biology, the process of going from DNA to protein and its significance was the core topic that we spent time on. Since this session covered more recently taught topics, she was more familiar with these and understood many topics thoroughly, especially when it came to monohybrid and dihybrid crosses. Once we start covering topics that she just learned, I'll create free response questions that can serve as practice for her AP Exam. Not only will it require her to be well versed in the topic, but be able to lay out all the steps or parts in a well written manner."
