Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on chapter 7, focusing on dividing polynomial functions. We also talked about finding horizontal asymptotes on a graph."
"We went over our final review packet: area between curves, shell method, washer method, Taylor series, convergence, length of a curve, and other concepts."
"We reviewed given two points on a graph and a ratio between each point and a point on the line find the ordered pair of that point. We worked on finding the circumference, the perimeter, and area of geometric figures. We looked at finding the midpoint of a line and equation of a line given an ordered pair and a perpendicular line."
"Today the student and I worked on his math and writing homework. He completed his math on percents with relative ease today. I think he finally understands the relationship between decimals, percents, and fractions. We also finished his MLA formatted paper on an assigned reading. He did a better job on this paper than most in the past. I hope he keeps up the good work."
"The student and I worked on long division using values that have more than two digits. At the start of our session, she had difficulty understanding these concepts but, by the end of the session, she had a clear understanding of how to approach them and could do them very well. For further practice, I gave her some more problems that I recommended she finish on her own, and we would be able to go over those questions that she had problems with during our next session. As always, I really enjoyed our time together, and look forward to meeting with her next week."
"We did a review of properties of addition and multiplication. It really solidified his knowledge of distributive property which helps with his single variable algebra questions. We did a preview of 3D geometry which is the next thing listed on his syllabus."
