Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session, we reviewed Chapter 12: The Great Depression in preparation for the in-class PowerPoint project, touching over the most important aspects of the era. Following our review of Chapter 12, we finished Chapter 13: The New Deal, detailing the US recovery following the Depression. We covered unfamiliar vocabulary terms, and I quizzed him on the important topics of Chapter 12."
"We worked on researching the various effects of the depression throughout the United States. Specifically, we contrasted the experience of the Great Depression in the West and the East. I set up a bibliography for the student based on the research we did together. She will continue reading the material and start writing before the next session on Tuesday."
"The student and I went over studying strategies for the AP US history exam, particularly how to study for the DBQs. We went through a practice DBQ, and talked about how to read the different documents, and what he should be doing to synthesize them into the essay. He is going to use previous questions, as a way to review for the exam by putting terms that he would use in the essay under each of the questions (the DBQ, and the 4 other essay questions). For next Friday, he will prepare for the FRQs."
