Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student was mainly preparing for a retest over rotational motion (torque and rotational energy) and was mainly concerned with problems connecting rotational and linear motion (such as strings attached to falling masses unwinding over pulleys or around poles). She also had problems relating to simple harmonic motion with masses on springs and pendulums. Some of the problems were intricate and required intuitive leaps that can be difficult to make during an exam, in a pressure situation. But she picked up as many of the principles as she could, and will be able to apply those to the retest."
"The student and I reviewed the proper way to solve Dalton's Gas Law problems. He excelled at the conceptual side- hardly needing my help whatsoever. His recurrent issue was remembering to convert Celsius to Kelvin for all of the questions involving changes in temperature. He's progressing very well, considering how quickly he grasps conceptual concepts now."
"In this session we talked about 2 very challenging acid / base problems for most of the time, along with several other easier problems that were attached to them (this was for a homework problem set that the student had). We also reviewed some of the acid base concepts. As usual, the student was very good and attentive - he is making good progress."
