Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Covered the process of erosion. Went over the agents of erosion; gravity, water, wind, and glaciers. Went over each agent in detail and discussed the results of each one. Also went over the life cycle of a stream. Did review questions from a test book."
"We focused on the basics of DNA by going back a few chapters before, and I used the screen share to take notes with him. We went through a lot, and I told him to review the notes and try to fill out the review sheet for other chapters. I am starting to see the student's learning style and how to approach the teaching."
"We went over multiple regression in Excel: how to set up the dataset, how to take into account missing observations (or deal with missingness as well as outliers), and set up her regression equation. She will be finishing this up for Sunday night's session."
"In today's session, we focused on studying for the student's biology retest. His teacher recommended that he study the material some more then retake the exam to get a higher score. When we reviewed the material on the study guide, he still needed to use his notes to answer some of the questions correctly. The second time around went better, but he should definitely spend the rest of the weekend on this material."
"The student and I spent some time reviewing for a biology test, then we returned to the chemistry worksheet to go over problems invoking molar mass conversions and limiting reactants."
"Today we reviewed last week's topic, and then moved on to amino acids and then started on nucleic acids."
