Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed algebraic statements for an upcoming exam for the student. We reviewed how to translate sentences into equations and vice-versa."
"Today the student and I discussed her online math packet. She was able to finish about three sections that her teacher assigned her."
"We covered order of operations and reviewed past concepts from arithmetic and pre-algebra, including operations with negative numbers, division and multiplication and operator identification."
"Today we worked on inverse and rational functions and geometry of lines, points, angles, midpoint formula, etc. The student did well with the geometry intro packet. We talked a lot about how to name different geometric things, distinctions between angle measure and the angle itself, points, lines, planes, etc."
"The first student and I reviewed his fractions and basic algebra homework. He and I reviewed polynomials (Mono, Bi, and Tri) and scientific notation. The second student and I went over 2 theorems: Rational root and Conjugate, and practiced synthetic division."
"On Tuesday we went over more starter problems, mainly about word problems with combining of different percentages of a solution. We had gone over the exact problem that was worded differently in a previous session, so this was good practice for understanding word problems in general. Since the problem was worded in reverse, there was confusion about defining the variable to solve and setting up the chart, but I gave her another similar problem to solve and she set it up correctly."
