"The student was introduced to inequalities in his math class. We had previously discussed number lines and negative numbers, so it was a great segue into a review of those topics. He sent me his homework beforehand, and together we worked through some of the inequality problems. Along the way, I created problems for him to make sure he understood the material. We then moved on to word problems, during which we practiced inequalities with a problem involving cost."
"The pupil and I covered the fundamental theorem of calculus and manipulation of derivatives and integrals. I will reinforce with him the unit circle equation."
"During this session, we worked through worksheets to further develop the student's understanding of how to work with radicals. We covered how to simplify radicals and how to multiply and divide two radical numbers. He was having some trouble remembering which numbers could be moved outside of the radical, so we slightly altered the way he was doing his notation in order to help him remember. Lastly, we went over uses of the Pythagorean theorem. We derived an equation that could be used to solve for the length of a side of a right triangle when the hypotenuse and other side are given."
"The pupil had an exam last week, which we went over during this session. We did practice problems, similar to those on the test, to help him understand the topics he had trouble with on the test, such as solving complex equations with radicals, absolute values, and multiple solutions."
"The student has a test tomorrow. We worked on her test review. Her review was over solving and graphing inequalities, solving one step equations, solving word problems that were proportions, and working heavily with integers. She did well with that. We worked on order of operations problems and combining like terms after she finished her review."
"Because the student said that she understands everything that is going on in class right now we moved on to the next section. I taught her about logarithms which she picked up extremely well. She understood their relationship to exponents and was able to switch logs to exponents and vice versa. Then we moved on to logarithm rules and using them to solve equations and she did that very well, as well. We then moved onto some test math and going over the section that she had already taken."
"The student and I read the next section from his math book, took notes on the new concepts, and completed the corresponding workbook page. This section covered an introduction to functions and graphing, with vocab terms such as domain, range, input, output, etc."
