"Worked on Ksp, Equilibrium and net ionic equations. She did well with solubility and creating expressions for Ksp."
"Today we worked on weak acid/base concepts for the student's test tomorrow. We went over titration curves specifically, and how to calculate the pH when a buffer solution is present. It seems like some of the concepts became a little clearer to her today - mostly with respect to buffer solutions and using the HH equation. We also talked about what happens when the buffer is no longer present - i.e. either the acid or conjugate base (or vise-versa) is used up completely - treat it as a simple weak acid/base problem and calculate the H+ or OH- concentrations from the Ka or Kb."
"We covered cellular chemistry, biological macromolecules, and functions of the molecules. We also went in to discussion regarding basic processes of the cell. Even though we are going backwards in material presented in lecture, this was done deliberately to review everything that will be on the student's exam on Wednesday. For our next meeting, we will continue this trend but will move forward to discuss Transcription, Transcriptional Modifications, and Transcription Regulatory mechanisms. Time permitting, we will then review cell junctions, transport, and signaling."
