Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over the diagnostic test in his prep book. There were some minor problems, mainly because rotational motion is a hard subject. I told him to finish his last two practice tests to get some studying done."
"We covered questions related to many different topics as we went over questions from AP Physics tests from previous years. The student did very well on this review."
"During this session the student and I began to learn the chapter on acids and bases. We went over a lab for which she has to write a quasi-lab report. Then we spent the rest of the time looking at worksheets that describe the properties of acids and bases, and ask to calculate questions. We learned terminologies such as Lewis acids and bases, Bronsted Lowry acids and bases, and conjugate acid base pairs. And we discussed how the acid dissociation constant relates the relative strength of an acid, as well as KB relates the strength of a base."
"Today, the student and I went over acids, bases and salts. We covered various definitions of acids and bases like the Arrhenius and Bronsted-Lowry definitions. We also covered the pH scale, litmus testing and titration. Her attitude was positive and I left her with extra practice."
"Today's session was an overview on Ohm's law and an introduction to circuits. We spent the session defining resistance, current, voltage, resistivity, conductivity. We used examples of fluid flow to explain the relationship between resistance and current."
"We began studying the reactions carboxylic acid derivatives. We worked on understanding the basic mechanism and then working on using the mechanism to work on specific reactions. We then began to discus enolate chemistry."
