Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We started and focused mostly on writing this session. We talked about the structure of a five paragraph essay and started brainstorming ideas for an essay in response for the question "What makes a good friend?" We had most of our main points drafted and wrote the thesis statement. We ended the session by writing out the multiples of seven and eight and playing a game practicing multiplication facts."
"Prepped language arts and history study guides. Reviewed finals study progress and revised study plan as needed. Went over completed math packet and set up additional study problems using online tools."
"This was a pre-midterm review session. We went over all the topics that will be on the midterm and worked through practice problems from worksheets on wave energy and light, quantum numbers, polarity, and intermolecular forces. I think that the student is well-prepared for her exam. She has a good understanding of all of the topics and the few she originally had trouble with, will not be on the test."
"Topics covered with the student include direct and indirect object pronouns, house vocabulary, conjugation of irregular verbs, and Spanish sentence composition. Progress achieved was a better understanding of how to apply direct and indirect object pronouns and finishing editing and writing a paragraph on a house plan."
"The student and I reviewed for an upcoming math test. He hadn't been to school in a week, so I showed him how to solve a variety of trig problems with the unit circle. We didn't have time to learn everything that he missed in school, but we covered all the topics a little."
"Tonight, we installed the new OS operating system to the student's laptop. We went over iPhoto, Shutterfly, how to use Siri, adding notes to his iPhone, and saving username and passwords. We reviewed some features of the Mac and how iTunes works. Next week, we will be syncing and backing up his iPhone and updating his iPhone with the latest OS."
