Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We studied for the student's chapter 6 math test. She had been understanding the whole chapter and feels confident about the test. We also read section one in her chapter in science about Darwin and evolution. She was able to answer the review questions provided by her teacher."
"During this session we went over the student's English assignment and he started his history assignment. I'm becoming more familiar with his way of learning and his weaknesses."
"We covered math proportion strategies and did an overview of the student's current science unit. He has improved with proportions since our last meeting."
"The student worked on division with multiples of 10 and division involving decimals. She had already analyzed her poem for the week so we went over it. We discussed and then she rewrote her comments in complete sentences. I asked her to bring home her textbook on Thursday and to ask her teacher for some extra problems involving the concept she did not understand."
"The student and I reviewed and practiced math concepts such as writing an equation, solving expressions, and using formulas (i.e., perimeter) to prepare for a chapter math test the following day. We did extra practice problems in his textbook and got additional practice writing equations from online worksheets. He also reviewed his vocabulary words."
"I helped the student with his Language Arts homework, which was two pages of worksheets on grammar, and his vocabulary homework, which was a crossword review of all of his vocabulary words this year. We also talked more about organization and how important remembering assignments is. After we finished everything else, we read the first chapter of a Nancy Drew book."
