"Strong focus on expository essays. The student and his parent mentioned it was a weakness for him. I gave him strategies for expository essay writing: 1) Read the "write" 2) think about the "write" 3) read about what you're writing about. He was also given an easy way to remember essay structure. We analyzed and corrected his expository essays."
"The student and I first started with going over the strategy that we are going to approach to studying for her test date in March. We went over a few passages/questions from each section which gave us a good idea of her strengths and weaknesses. It seems like she excels in math and seems pretty good in English as well. On our next session, I asked her to read over the criteria for the writing section and to also do 2 reading passages so that we can go over and talk about them. I feel confident that she can attain her ACT goal with proper preparation."
"The student and I began by going over her answers from the diagnostic test. We then shifted gears by working heavily in coordinate geometry, particularly on lines and the line equations. I then showed her the main equations that she should know like the back of her hand, like area of a sphere. Next week, we will work on essay writing skills."
