Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I assisted the student with reviewing her biology homework, which consisted of identifying the types of joints and bones in the human body. After this we talked about math concepts such as Pascal's triangle, triangular numbers, tetrahedronal numbers, etc. We also discussed areas and perimeters of geometric shapes including squares, rectangles, triangles, circles and trapezoids."
"Today the student completed his science project. He had a few notes to his teacher to correct. He also has a social studies test tomorrow. He completed the review worksheet. We went over the vocabulary and the different notes."
"We studied for the student's history and math midterms she will be having next week. For history, we went over flashcards covering the terms and short answer responses. In math, we went over part of the study guide. She requested to review percent problems, inequalities, and adding fractions with unlike denominators."
"We looked at the student's planner to make sure that he was notating his assignments and any upcoming assessments or projects. We then discussed his current grades and what he would need to do to make sure that he makes the best final averages possible in each of his classes. We then discussed the unit circle, as he was preparing for an algebra test. We were able to figure out a strategy to help him to remember all of the parts of the unit circle."
"The student and I studied for his math exam. We reviewed a number of different types of problems. It helped him when he wrote down the formulas he needed before beginning the problem - if he can do this on the test it will help him a lot! It's been a pleasure working with him, and I hope the end of the school year goes well!"
"The student and I did a final test prep session for her history class. We discussed the Reconstruction period and the early civil rights legislation. She continued to make thoughtful connections to the material and its larger significance. I feel very confident that she will do well on her final exam."
